iLux, is an in-office treatment that provides fast and effective relief to MGD (Meibomian Gland Disease). MGD is the most common cause of dry eye which effects up to 50% of the adult population.
iLux MGD treatment device incorporates the innovative Smart tip Patient Interface to deliver treatment to the blocked meibomian glands. The treatment provides real time feedback as therapeutic heat is administered to the eyelids and the oil is expressed. When the glands are unblocked, it will be easier for the oil to be released naturally, allowing the eye to produce better quality tears.
